Since the topic came up its been on my mind. The only other solution I can think of to track plus votes is to make a topic. In that topic a person can post the link to the page the post they plused is on, simply by copying the address from the bar after the vote has finished processing.

The other option is to promote that report button.
My only concern on an open topic is peoples own worries and concerns.
I am only guessing, but I would think people would be more comfortable in giving reasons as to why they voted something anonymously through the report features pm.

I'm a little torn. I like the idea of a Nom thread. (Mmm....noms. *drool*) But really you have a point with the anonymity.
It is a good idea to be able to say why or why not a post is nomed, or denomed, but why don't we use it? For some it's laziness, I suspect, and if they won't fill out a short sentence, then they likely won't make another post.
For others, they simply still don't know about the option.
For still others, they may just be skittish about using new features, not wanting to mess something up accidentally. Whether or not that's even possible. (Don't look at me like that. Some of us like to worry, alright?Geez.)
I suggest making the thread, but repeat the how to of the Nom button in the OP, stating that it is an alternative. As well as promoting its use however else you can. Once people get into the habit of noming like this the Nom thread will stop being needed. Not a big problem really. We'll just have a thread that collects dust. You know, like the X-box boards. (Zing!)
