Okay, chapter one is here!
Chapter One: Investigation
Point of view: Corpral Nicholas "Kid" Davidson, Specter Squad, US Army
Location: Russian forest, 10 miles north of Russian base
Time/Date: 05:44/12-12-12
I got off the helicopter wondering what my new CO was thinking. My first mission as a part of Specter Squad and it had to be in Russia. In winter. I'm reminded of Napoleon Bonaparte who made the same mistake and lost. Badly. I was going to give the captain a piece of my mind, but first I had to know where he was. My only hint was a small tent with a few soldiers standing outside warming themselves on a fire in a barrel. I walked in to find a soldier leaning back in his chair, feet up, and a newspaper draped over his face and "Joker & the Theif" was blaring as loud as possible. It worried me how easy it must've been to get transfered here. I picked up the newspaper, rolled it up and give him a hard "WHACK!" on his forehead with it. Crude? Maybe. Effective? Hell yeah.
"What the--?" He jumped with a start. "What was that for?"
"Sleeping on the job," I replied coldly, "Now would you mind telling me where to find Cpt. O'rilley?"
"Sure," he muttered, "follow me." I followed him as he walked around the tent and back in.
"Well?" I asked.
"Well what?" He said sitting back down.
"Where's the freaking captain?"
"You're looking at him." I felt my face go pale. "Captain Liam "Sixx" O'rilley, [A/N: I hope you don't mind Liam. I used you as a character.] at your service." He added smugly. "Now what do you want?"
"I want to know why we're here." I said working up the nerve after the embarassing incident.
"Why is any of us here? Are any of us here in the first place?" He said as if he was being philisophical. "Oh, Why are we in Russia?"
"In winter." I added bitterly.
"Well we got orders to check out an illegal SatComm Base after word got out Russia left the U.N. It's our job to check it out."
"How do we get inside?"
"We'll take this route through the forest and to their back door." He said pointing to a map...
Time/Date: 06:00/12-12-12
"Sixx" and I neared the enemy base, both of us armed with just a SR-25 sniper rifle and a PP-19 Bizon each. The latter, I'm told, he got from some contact in the Russian army. I thought it was smart because through my scope I saw some soldiers carrying them and if we were attacked, we'd need as mush ammo as possible. Another gun I saw plenty of were Russian A-91s, most of them with Grenade launchers attached. It's safe to say that if we ran into trouble, we'd be screwed. Of course, Sixx wasn't taking this seriously.
"This looks like it's gonna be a fun day, huh?" He said to me, taking another puff from his cigar.
"You know, that can kill you, right?" I told him in a hushed voice.
"What? Smoking?"
"Opening your mouth in enemy territory." I was already going to get in trouble for the newspaper incident, I might as well say that now.
"Well if we get in trouble, you can go in with a newspaper and beat them to death." He snickered and started walking south around the lake that separated the forest we were in and the base. "Now come on. We have untill 06:30 to get in position if we our distraction to work." Our "distraction" involved a second group attacking the north side of the base to make sure we had less soldiers to deal with while we, in Sixx's words, "went ninja on them."
We got in position just as we heard explosions from up north. We ran in, guns ablazin', and fought our way through half the base untill we got just outside the Satcomm building when we saw one of our attack helicopters pass overhead and get shot down by a Russian soldier with an RPG-7. When we got inside we took down the hostiles and proceded to the console.
"Look at this." Sixx said showing me to a message.
"What does it say?" I asked, "I don't know Russian."
"It's coded anyway, Sixx said, We'll decode it later."
"Now what?" I asked. He simply smirked.
"It's a good thing I brought these." He smiled pulling out some C4 charges. "Five minutes should do." We set the charges, and hopped in a Humvee waiting out side. As I looked behind us, I saw the enemy base go up in flames.
"There any others in our little group?" I asked. Sixx just chuckled.
"Wolf and Ace are in the Middle East right now," he said. You'll see them soon enough.
"Sir," The driver said, "Hostles up ahead."
