Well, originally we were planning on doing the hanging scene LIVE. 6 nights in a row (plus several dress rehearsals). Given the chances that something might go wrong, we decided not to do it. I was all for it, I was saying to the director "Eh, I got a strong neck, I'm willing to do it!" but she wouldn't dare take any chances whatsoever. So we had to go with the pre recorded SAFE version. Pffft. Safety.
