ETW, nothing will be like the UMP. The reason being that that gun defied the laws of physics & lacked all balancing. IW did a terrible job with the gun, IMO. As you & every other player on MW2 figured out, it was the Jack of all trades.

In this game, relatively speaking, the guns work as they are supposed to--shotties & smg's up close, AR's mid & snipers far.

That being said, the gun closest to doing EVERYTHING would be the FAMAS. The rate of fire makes so that it cuts through people in no time, the hip-fire even without SA is great & it can deal with distanced enemies. The only drawback is your running speed is slower than it would be with an SMG or pistol. Many people feel the AUG is essentially the same, so it's probably just personal preference. I prefer the FAMAS.

If you really want an SMG, the best one without a doubt is the AK74u. IIRC, it is a 40-30 gun.

Quick note about gun damages. If you are not hitting people in their faces much, go with the FAMAS. If you ARE, go with a 40-30 damage gun like an AK-47 or Galil, as it only takes two shots with them.

Rapid fire for SMG's kind makes up for their lack of damage input, so a Rapid Fire MPL can be BEASTLY.

Silver, sounds like text-book CoD lag to me buddy, if you go onto the options screen from the main multiplayer menu and press select it will tell you your connection rate.

I've found that it actually helps sometimes to quit the game and restart it, my rate went from 214kbps to 1003kbps simply by doing that, strangely enough.

I think the galil is a very underrated gun. It is by far my favorite outside of maybe the commando. I don't think I get a lot of headshots per se, but I probably tend to hit the mark and the added damage helps a ton.

I don't like it.

It just looks so wrong with that big handle thingy on it.
