I thought Sky News said that a French Pilot did it.

Col Muammar Gaddafi’s convoy was bombed by an American Predator drone and then attacked by French jets before the deposed dictator was killed by rebel fighters, defence sources disclosed.

Apparently there are videos of him still alive after he was captured by the rebels, and then fresh bullet holes in his head after this, no wonder the UN is calling for an international investigation. Tbh, I'm sort of glad that he is dead but at the same time I don't think that the Libyans would have preferred it to go this way, think they would have gotten a better form of closer by trying him.

I think it should be no surprise that he didn't make it to a courtroom. He wasn't captured by the police or professional soldiers. The rebel fighters who captured him were uneducated tribesman whose comrades have been getting killed at the behest of the man they just pulled out of a drain. For most of them the Libyan judicial system was a farce only existing to prop up the dictator. The simple solution to them, was to finish off what the planes started and execute him
Do I agree with the way it was handled , no I believe in the rule of law. Can I understand it ..yes. Now it is up to the Libyans to try the rest of his henchmen in an open court and show the world.

remember, watch, the ICC had issued warrants for his arrest, there would have been no corrupt Libyan officials in there, but that is true, they wanted justice.
