| Heard through the grapevine, aka facebook, that the nationwide and perhaps worldwide protests will start Wednesday night. The big one will be wall street, and locally around where I live Portland, Oregon will be seeing quite a few people out in the streets. The hackivist group Anonymous will be spearheading this, and probably regional groups will join.
It will be interesting to see if this goes down or fizzles. |

| (o.O) What is this about exactly, all I can get is Hacktivists and Adbusters and Anonymous. What is the protest itself about though? __________________________| Quote: | | "I agree with all Liam has said so far" - Seyel |

from a 64 page post from the anonymous forums.
this is very interesting news indeed. hopefully everything can stay peaceful, although i've seen some vids up of some good old fashioned new york police baton usage. all it takes is one idiot to do something stupid that the protest turns into the angry mob.
heres wishing everyone there, from police to protester, safety. |

| I think I've read that its simply about the way governments set economic tones or how those in financial institutions run things in a way that is unsustainable which has caused a lot of the economic issues that have been happening within the past years.
I could be way off though. __________________________ |

| Fox Corporation wants the Simpsons voice actors to take a 45% cut or they will shut down the show. Corporate greed is getting out of hand. |

| The problem is they arent really unified in any one main thing. I think it will be a news blip for a while but with out any real organization I dont see this lasting long. imo, they should focus on one thing and one thing only. At some point the protestors will come to realize that the one thing they stand for isnt in line with, and may even go against some of the things the other protestors stand for.
I find it a little funny that some of these people have quit their jobs so they can go protest the lack of money in the common workers hand. Are you really that stupid? No one will listen to your message that way.
I say they need to focus and organize. Personally I think they should focus more on the lack of jobs than anything. Thats what it all stems from really. __________________________ |
