| Just heard on BBC world report on NPR that we are in talks or planning stages of basing up to 2000 troops in Darwin Australia. Some of the reasons I had heard were to have an expeditionary force ready to deal with possible destabilizations in asian countries. It will be a good economic boost to the city, as long as our dollar is still worth something over there.  |

OUCH!!! they are as bad off as we are?? I think some of the more religeous constituency will take potshots, but eh, its america.

| LOL DMick Canada has parity with the US dollar too. Bad for your exports good for your buying power. Aussie and Canadian currency are both higher due to their abundance of natural resources. Dollar is down they are up. I dojn't know if Americans score in Australia but those Aussie guys clean up in the USA... cute accents or something is what the women say. |

| too true! during ww2 ive read a couple memoirs where GI's in the pacific got leave in australia. they said it was the best time they ever had during the war, lol. |
