Here is why I think that this is not true, they have been doing all kinds of makeovers of the site over the past couple of months, why would they do that if they were just going to shut down the site in March? And here is another question I have, why haven't I received a message/email from facebook telling me this? I do not think that this thing called WWN is a reliable source, I check the NY Times pretty frequently and have not discovered ONE story about this

Facebook probably makes way too much money from advertizing to think about shutting itself down.
